Helping Wichita realize it’s goal of becoming a sporting destination, was top priority when designing elements for the expansion of Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, KS for the City of Wichita. The facility was expanded to feature 11 all turf multipurpose fields and expanded participant and spectator amenities, as well as additional seating to hold up to 3,000 spectators. Construction was completed on the 112,000 SF facility in 2019.
To bring this $22 million project to life, GLMV provided design services to improve the main stadium, Tommy Peckham Championship Field, and field amenities in order to attract players and spectators. These included a freestanding ticket booth, new concession stand, main entrance, restrooms, a new press box, and two changing rooms for teams participating at the Championship Stadium. Additional Championship Stadium improvements included new bleachers, which added additional seating to hold up to 3,000 spectators. With the addition of high-performance fields, world-class amenities and facility improvements, Stryker Soccer Complex is one step closer to becoming a desirable spot for youth soccer and other related sport activities. For this project GLMV provided architecture, interior design, construction administration, cost estimating, and project management.
