The Darnall W. and Susan F. Boyd Aquarium and Reptile Center serves to tell the story of critically important conservation work championed by Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. An immersive, engaging, completely renovated aquarium and reptile experience fascinates visitors and connects them to their role in conservation, inspiring them to join Riverbanks Zoo and Garden in taking action to save wild animals and wild places.

 

 

 

 

Project Details

This completely renovated complex displays terrestrial and aquatic conservation labs, a jellyfish wall, an octopus tank, and climate zones that include the desert, tropics, and South Carolina temperate forest. A 30-year-old building is transformed into a multi-sensory experience, immersing guests in environments from all over the world. Home to the Zoo’s largest and most diverse population of animals, the Darnall W. and Susan F. Boyd Aquarium and Reptile Center highlights species of critical local and global conservation importance.
