When Greensburg residents first set out to assess the damage left behind by an EF5 tornado, they discovered a station wagon perched atop their courthouse, along with shattered windows, a missing roof, and soggy, rain-soaked interiors. The historic structure had suffered major damage, but the town was committed to restoring it to its original character.
GLMV completed this award-winning, LEED Gold historical restoration in Greensburg, Kansas which included roof and window replacement, as well as complete interior renovations. New mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems were incorporated and a ground-source heat pump system, ADA upgrades, code compliance updates, and sitework were also included.
