Committed to growing their partnership with WSU, NetApp’s Wichita headquarters relocated to the Innovation Campus to allow NetApp employees and facilities to work alongside students, faculty, and other researchers to create technological innovations and applied learning. This new 168,000-square-foot facility contains secured areas for 24/7 service, which includes digital and hands-on testing spaces such as data center with IT equipment, bench laboratory for prototype testing, large flexible training room with garage doors that open into the “mall” area, and 420 data servers – white data racks included. Additional spaces include open office areas, conference rooms, project rooms, and break rooms.
The spine of the facility, also known as the “mall,” provides unique gathering spaces open to the public. Visitors can walk through the mall which leads them to a cafeteria and an outdoor lawn space with amenities such as terrace stepped seating, a sport court, and a reflecting pond. The outdoor space is connected to the future Convergence Sciences building. The Café space is also open to the public, providing a people-to-people connection.
