McMillen Park Master Plan

Looking to increase their “Small Town Pride,” the City of Altamont teamed with GLMV to develop a master plan for a future community recreation area and park at an undeveloped 20-acre lot on the south side of town on the northwest corner of Huston and McMillen Avenues.

Project Details

After extensive community research and several information gathering sessions with residents and stakeholders, GLMV designers developed a comprehensive master plan for the park that included phased concepts for a new field house (basketball, volleyball, exercise room, youth room, meeting space, indoor track), multi-purpose sports field (football, soccer, baseball, softball), a community event lawn, parking, dog park, playground, spray ground, picnic shelters, multi-purpose trail, restrooms, and pollinator garden. The Master Plan is based on community needs and preferences gathered during the process. The City’s goal is that this multi-purpose space will not only be an area for residents and kids to play, but will also allow Altamont’s youth sports teams to have a place to play “at home” rather than drive to neighboring communities to play in leagues or games.
