Kansas Department of Transportation Kechi Subarea Complex

The newly constructed Subarea Complex for the Kansas Department of Transportation in Kechi is a collection of structures that efficiently and effectively aid the department in their mission to serve Kansas highways for many years to come. This project was one of three recent projects completed for KDOT. GLMV provided architecture, civil engineering, construction administration, cost estimating, interior design, landscape architecture, LEED consulting, site planning, and project management.

Project Details

The main administration facility is an approximately 20,000-square-foot, pre-engineered metal building. It consists of seven vehicles bays, one wash bay, two crew and tool bays, and offices. Supporting buildings includes two storage barns, a salt bunker, a sand bunker, and fuel island with two pumps. Construction was completed in 2017.
