Wichita State University is on a mission to give its students a leading edge. The Koch Global Trading Center, an applied learning classroom, simulates a real-world trading floor and provides access to live market data and research. The bright, open space is designed to emulate the fast-paced atmosphere of commodities trading, and is a key component in advancing entrepreneurial, technology-based business education.
The 800-square-foot lab features 30 dual-monitor workstations and five wall-mounted flat-screen monitors displaying live market data and television feeds. A 60-foot-long digital financial ticker wraps around the interior perimeter, while a second 30-foot-long circular ticker is suspended from the lobby ceiling. Ceiling-height glass windows provide passing students the opportunity to observe this fast-paced learning environment.
