The Technical Education and Innovation Center houses nursing, renewable energy, and agriculture and industrial departments. In addition to classroom space, the facility also houses a nursing skills classroom and simulation lab, a climb/drone space, composite blade lab, solar energy lab, hydraulics and mechanical training lab, an A-frame training lab for renewable energy, and lab areas for ag/industrial and welding programs.
As part of the master plan TESSERE developed for Cloud County Community College, this building was designed to bring several departments spread over
several facilities to one central location. The goal is to use this and future buildings to create a traditional college campus feel. CCCC’s Technical Education
and Innovation Center is in direct response to the educational and workforce needs of Kansas.
Adaptable spaces will allow for stronger private/college partnerships through the nursing and renewable energy programs. Not only will the facility provide programs for nursing students, but also continuing education for those at Cloud County Health Center located adjacent to this building. Health Center staff will also provide education and mentorship programs through the Technical Education and Innovation Center.
The Technical Education and Innovation Center will serve as a “front door” to the campus for new students, alumni, and the community. Several features within the building, including gathering spaces and multifunctional classrooms, will be open to the public and act as a showcase when needed for additional programs at CCCC to act as a recruitment and retention point for the college.
