Miller Park at Fellows Lake

Miller Park occupies 20 acres of recreational amenities and a marina on the southern shore of the 860-acre Fellows Lake, which serves as the primary drinking water source for the City of Springfield. When City Utilities sought to enhance the park, GLMV was selected to provide master planning services.

Project Details

- Site analysis – An evaluation of the current site identifying the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to formulate recommendations for the design.

- Conceptual master plan design – Create a conceptual master plan for the park based on information gathered throughout the project.

- 10-year implementation plan – Desired level of service for the park was identified and a prioritized road map for improvements over the next 10 years was created, complete with opinion of probable cost for each amenity.

The conceptual master plan for Miller Park includes trails, native planting areas, picnic shelters, a reading deck, an all-inclusive nature play area, a new conservation center with on-shore marina store, updated parking and circulation, and a new marina structure.
