One of our greatest concerns in designing barracks is to create a desirable place to live for military service members. We’ve met this need by designing a variety of barracks with an emphasis on neighborhood characteristics, exteriors aesthetics, human scale, and inviting outdoor features to encourage leisure and socialization.
GLMV has designed several new housing facilities at Fort Riley, Kansas, including a renovation of 13 existing VOLAR (Volunteer Army) barracks into one-bedroom dwelling units with individual baths and kitchens and a complex of eight Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel (UEPH) barracks with two-bedroom modules containing shared kitchen and bathrooms.
