Airbus Americas Engineering

TESSERE designed this 2-story, 89,000-square-foot facility for Airbus and Wichita State University. Housing 400 aviation structural engineers, this Class A office building is a private/public collaboration that brings real-world opportunities to a University campus. This leading-edge experiential education not only provides students with additional on-the-job training and internship options, it also provides employers front-row access to young talent.

Project Details

Many design features have been incorporated to encourage collaboration, including an open office layout with low-height workstations and breakout areas. Other features include high ceilings, a spacious lobby that spans the length of the building, and generous use of daylighting through ribbon windows, dual glass entries, and skylights. A wide corridor on the main level also entices students traveling across campus to pass through the building.
