State Office Building, Wichita, Kansas --
The State of Kansas retained the firm to analyze the functions of 24 state agencies, scattered in 38 locations throughout Wichita, for possible consolidation into a single building or complex of buildings in downtown Wichita. Existing space utilization, growth projections, space deficiencies, and parking needs were identified, along with the potential of shared use facilities such as conference rooms and break rooms.
The study eventually resulted in the former Macy’s Department Store in downtown Wichita being renovated as a new home for 17 of the agencies, accommodated in 212,000-square-feet.
