GLMV provides services in architecture, programming and master planning, LEED design, interior design and landscape architecture. The firm serves local, state and national clients in the government, corporate, industrial, aviation, educational, healthcare, and food service sectors, as well as zoos and parklands. Landscape architects and interns touch all of these projects and, in the case of zoos and open public spaces, provide critical skills and talent from master planning through project completion.

Aviation-Industrial Architectural Services Business Leader

A practicing registered Architect responsible for development of new business in the aviation, industrial and manufacturing industries; leading pursuits, identifying and pre-qualifying clients; and working with other staff in developing marketing and proposal materials and preparing for client interviews. This position must be willing to engage actively in architectural and client industry professional organizations as part of his or her commitment to the practice and the profession and have the ability to balance customer success with profitable services.
Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business development plan with short-and long-range goals.
  • Develop strategies for cultivating prospects and obtaining work for the firm.
  • Identify, make direct contact, cultivate, negotiate and close opportunities with strategic clients and prospects.
  • Articulate services and value to instill confidence in our clients and be viewed by the client as the credible advisor for implementation.
  • Forecast sales opportunities, potential revenues, and revenues from work under contract.
  • Provide indirect oversight of all phases of studio projects with direct oversight of client management.
  • Provide industry-specific technical guidance and mentor senior staff.
  • Lead small teams to program, conceptualize, design, and develop projects.
  • Provide direct and indirect oversight of the design process and quality management
  • Sign and seal design documents; develop project managers who can sign and seal documents.
  • Maintain ultimate responsibility for customer satisfaction of studio clients.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of documentation and design process management in all phases of a project.
  • Excellent verbal and written English language communication skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of BIM design technologies.
  • Knowledge of electronic/digital document system retrieval preferred.
  • Proficient with operating a personal computer and use of MS Excel/Word/Outlook.
  • Ability to visually inspect details and to review construction drawings for quality and constructability of design solutions.
  • Ability to direct and coach others through the full range of architectural project phases.
  • Ability to open and critically examine CADD and BIM files.

Education and Experience: The successful candidate will be a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer with 10 years of professional experience serving aviation, manufacturing, and industrial clients and including business development. Experience should demonstrate growth in scope of responsibility, and size and project complexity and include a portfolio of successfully completed projects from concept through construction and occupancy. Specific and substantial industry experience in Aerospace, Aviation and/or Manufacturing is required. Certification in lean manufacturing methodologies may also be preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Project/Brand Manager–Multi-Build Restaurants

This brand management professional is responsible for specific client relationships and the planning, preparation, and delivery of a high volume of quick turn-around restaurant renovation, remodel and expansion projects as well as new construction. This is production, management, and occasionally supervisory position is accountable for delivering projects on time and within budget, and reports to the studio lead in service to the client’s industry. Specific production contributions will include site analysis and development, concept design review; brand management review, preparation and submittal of site reports. The work is fast-paced and requires daily interaction with client representatives, code officials and external project partners. Travel will be required for site analysis, documentation and assessment of existing conditions, local jurisdictional meetings, and construction administration as needed. Responsibilities

  • Meets directly with client, analyze client goals and conceive and develop solutions to those goals within franchise, community and regulatory parameters.
  • Completes due diligence/site reports
  • Creates schematic designs and plans
  • Assume the following project management responsibilities:
    • Plans the project budget, milestones, and schedule and track project performance accordingly
    • Coordinates workload through design development and construction document phases to complete documents on schedule.
    • Directs and coordinates with the engineering disciplines and third party equipment vendors, reviewing construction documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
    • Writes/edits architectural specifications.
    • Plans, initiates, and runs project meetings, setting agenda’s, and issuing meeting minutes.
    • Ensure code and accessibility compliance utilizing several competing and often conflicting building, life safety, health and accessibility codes.
    • Coordinates addendum, ASI, RFIs, and Change Orders and is responsible to incorporate agreed upon changes into the project documents.
    • Report project completion for billing, approve invoices, and lead any necessary collections activities.
    • Provide supervision and guidance to others assigned to facilitate the delivery of a project.
    • May develop scope and fee documents.
  • Reviews final sets for quality control
  • Assume the following business development responsibilities
    • Represents GLMV and seeks work from similar franchisees and corporations
    • Represents GLMV to potential clients in other industries served by GLMV as opportunities arise.

  • Strong knowledge of design within the parameters of franchise agreement requirements and neighborhood adaptations.
  • Strong knowledge of heath department and building codes and accessibility requirements and their interstate variances.
  • Excellent written and communication skills–ability to speak and write clearly and concisely and to relate well to others at all levels and use diplomacy and tact
  • Planning and organization skills –ability to start and complete projects independently, using time effectively and efficiently, and managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to evaluate and approve or request modifications of pay applications and change orders
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities—working closely with numerous owner representatives and their clients on different projects simultaneously.

Restaurant and/or franchise development experience is preferred. Experience should include client relations management and project oversight through coordination and collaboration with others. Project Architect

Architect registered in at least one state to take responsibility for specific client relationships and the design, planning, preparation, and delivery of a high volume of quick turn-around restaurant renovation, remodel and expansion projects as well as new construction. Landscape Architect or Intern

GLMV Architecture, Inc. has an opening for a landscape architect or intern. A registered architect in this position will become responsible for site and landscape work for specific clients.

An intern in this position will works with direction from registered landscape architects to provide site and landscape support services for specific clients. Proficiency and independence in completion of project assignments will lead to opportunities of greater scale and complexity.

The minimum requirement for this position is graduation from and accredited landscape architecture baccalaureate or master’s program with proficiency in civil 3-d.
