Architectural Business Development Professional – Houston, TX

Identify opportunities for and establish and facilitate new relationships between potential clients and architectural service professionals.

Report to a managing vice president and collaborate with other vice presidents throughout the company who are industry experts.

Maintain an acute awareness of market and economic trends relative to the architectural services industry and to client industries.

Requires a valid Texas diver license, reliable transportation and the ability to transport self and ambulate through a broad range of physical settings; the ability to work at the northwest Houston location Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., as well as to begin a work day earlier or end it later as needed.

The successful candidate for this position is a Texas registered architect with institutional practice experience and business development experience who is well acquainted with Houston and surrounding community geography, architectural trends and markets.  This individual is self- motivated, well organized, comfortable with self-introduction and initiating conversation with new acquaintances, and has a strong sense of accountability.

FOR ALL POSITIONS:

We hire carefully. In addition to personal interviewing and project or portfolio reviews, we will require a web-based personal profile assessment and an AutoCAD proficiency assessment.  For project architects and higher level positions, we will also conduct a detailing assessment.

  • Initial personal interviews, AutoCAD proficiency assessments and detailing assessments may be scheduled all in one day or separately.
  • Successful applicants will return for second interviews and an opportunity to meet with more staff members, and be asked to complete a web-based personal profile assessment.
  • For some higher level positions, we may require detail or design assessment as well.
  • Non-technical positions may require other types of content valid job skills testing, such as typing and spelling test for word processing staff.

Resumes should include education, professional credentials, work history (with time worked for each employer indicated in month and year), and annotated project history. Electronic portfolios or work samples are welcome and appreciated.  Cover letters are recommended, but not required. Use a format readable by Windows XP.
